Willesden international short story comp is on again. Deadline: 21
December 2007. 1st prize this time will be £5,000. All short-listed
stories will be published in "New Short Stories 2". There will be a
prizegiving ceremony at The Space, NW10. The judge is Zadie Smith.

Brent Respect 2007 Roundwood Park, Sunday July 8th The Storytelling Tent
Special
guests from 5 p.m. Then from about 6:30 to 7:30 there will be a short
story slam. 5-minute stories on the theme "respect". Bell after 5 mins,
so make it fit. Multi-award winning author, Vanessa Gebbie will choose
the winner.
Also listed as part of the London Literature
Festival fringe "London Lit Plus" - so you get to say "I read at the
London Literature Festival fringe."

have a bit of news, which is that I have just published a collection of
short stories, The Blue (Telegram £7.99), which includes two stories I
have read on Tell Tales tours.It was really Courttia, Nii and Rajeev's
invitation that got me writing short stories again. So thanks to all
Tell-Talers for the inspiration and the great experience of touring
with you.

across telltales in pride magazine i am a writer and spoken word
artiste who was a journalist until less than a year ago...im interested
in writing short stories cos im not sure of i want to be a
novelist..how can i be a part of what you do?or how can something
similar be arranged over here in nigeria where i currently reside...i
read some of the excerpts by the way..i am interested..peace
